Join us for a complimentary film screening of PACKED IN A TRUNK at Space 1026. This poignant documentary tells the story of artist and print maker Edith Lake Wilkinson, who was committed to an asylum in 1924 and was never heard from again. All her belongings such as white line woodblock prints were packed into trunks and sent to a relative in West Virginia, where they remained in an attic for 40 years. Edith's great-niece, Emmy Award-winning writer and director Jane Anderson, grew up surrounded by her aunt's artwork, thanks to her mother’s efforts in rescuing Edith's artwork. The film follows Jane’s decades-long quest to unravel the mystery of Edith's hidden life, seek recognition for her contributions in the art world, and return her works to Provincetown.
